Baby BooHeini Has A Name!

We have a name for this child and we love it!  He shall be called..... Cantley.   ( after his daddy) Brett's middle name is Cantley.  I've loved this name since I met Brett and we both wanted to use something meaningful and unique.  Now I can't imagine calling him anything else.  I love saying it: "Cantley just kicked" or "In Cantley's room".  Ahhh..it's just too cool!   It's so fun to see his name too!

We had a wonderful Christmas and Cantley got some precious gifts.

I kept thinking about how different next year would be when we have a 6 month old!  I still can't believe we are so blessed to be pregnant and that this is OUR baby.  I also thought a lot about Christmases past and how every year we would think, "Next year we'll be pregnant" or "Next Christmas we'll have a baby."  So if you're in that boat now, I've definitely been there and my heart goes out to you.  We spent 4 years of Christmases, Mother's Days, birthdays, etc. feeling this way and it's not fun.  But my advice to get through any holiday or event when you're feeling left out or down about not having a little one yet or for whatever reason is to:
-Enjoy your spouse and your fur baby if you have one.  Cooper gets a stocking and we open it together as a family on Christmas morning.. and we take pictures of him..and it's awesome.
-Hang out with the kids in your life- hang out with three at the same time 5 years old and under and that'll really make you forget about the baby waiting game for a while.
-Have fun with your friends.  Go on trips, to concerts, and long drawn out dinners. You know, the stuff you won't be able to do spontaneously once you actually have a child.
-Drink wine. Because you can. ;)
-Leave early or don't go at all if you can't handle it.  I remember last year on Mother's day, I just couldn't make it to church.  I knew they'd ask all the mothers to stand. They may talk about what it means to be a mom, something I hadn't gotten to experience yet.  I wanted to be beside my mom to honor her, but I knew my heart was broken because it was another year of not having a child.  So I just met her for lunch afterwards.  Do what ya gotta do!
Also, Happy New Year!  I'm pumped about 2015 and I hope you are too.  A lot can happen in a year...

Boy, Oh Boy!!

It's official:  We're having a baby BOY and we are very excited!!   It was such an exciting day and one I'll never forget.  Here's how it went:

I worked a half day and let my class vote on the gender.  The boys voted "boy" and the girls voted "girl" (with the exception of a few friends.)  They were so funny and couldn't wait to see if their votes were right when we come back to school on Monday.

Brett met me at home and we headed to the doctor.  We got back to ultrasound pretty fast which I was so thankful because I hadn't seen this sweet baby in 6 weeks!  (Torture!)  We immediately saw him, and he was moving! Wow!  ...all over the place!  The nurse was like "This baby will not stop moving so I can get his or her measurements."  Then all of the sudden, it was like he fell asleep and then she couldn't see the gender.  She kept poking my tummy to make him move but he was out.  She called him stubborn... Haha.. so I had to walk around the room a few times and then he cooperated.  We gave her a card and she brought the sealed envelope out to the waiting room for us.  It was SO tempting to open it.  Look at this precious miracle:

                                                                          A foot!

I mean, I just can't believe this is the same baby that started off as just a prayer to that little embryo then a sweet pea to a little gummy bear to a weird alien baby to this!  Ahhh!  It's amazing

My sister planned an incredible gender reveal party and KK and Paw Paw (my parents) had it at their house.  It was perfect.
Amanda hand crafted these adorable gingerbread boy & girl cookies!

My dad didn't know there were 2 cakes and thought this was the reveal cake so he called my mom & said "Well the surprise it ruined..I know what the baby is."  Bahaha    Oh, Paw Paw.

Acting casual..
All the Old Wives' Tales pointed to boy!
Carsen & Kate tallying votes.

Some of the besties.   Love these girls!
                                                              The "Bousson" girls

Pink or blue?!?!

Preston was poking my stomach and saying "Babyyy" and oh lawd, look at Kate haha

Everyone wore red (for girl) or green (for boy) to cast their vote.
We are so thankful we've had these family and friends (plus some) that have walked beside us along this journey.

Everyone getting ready..

I love this picture!  Our first reaction after the tree lit up and you can see my brother and some of our best friends being FaceTimed in. Such an unforgettable moment!

                                                                Here's the video. :) :) :)

Kate's reaction to her reigning title as the only girl... and then she hid under the coats.

I can't believe we are going to have a son!  We cannot wait for this sweet baby.  It just got so much more real now that we know what's in there.  When I look at pictures of our baby boy, all I can think of is "answered prayers".  Lots and lots of answered prayers! Now it's time to shop..

Baby On the Go

We haven't gotten to see this sweet baby since our 12 week ultrasound and it has been  killing me!  We went to the doctor last week and got to hear the heartbeat, so it made me feel better.  It has held steady at around 150 since the first time we heard it.  Luckily, these past few weeks have been busy busy, so that has helped.

We went to Oxford for the Ole Miss/Memphis game and to celebrate Kelly's 29th Birthday.

We celebrated Halloween with our annual Henirich Halloween Party.  Baby BooHeini made an appearance as our little pot of gold with Brett as the head leprechaun haha..

We just love our friends and the fact that they always participate with costumes. :)

This is how I told my class about Baby BooHeini.  None of them really caught it at first until our Morning Meeting when I drew their attention to it and I said "What do y'all think my shirt means?"  and I hear a little, nonchalant voice say "pregnant"...  #unimpressed  haha  but a lot of the kids were excited.  It was very cute!

We saw Eric Church in concert...Baby's First concert!

We went to Little Rock to surprise Brett's MiMi for her 80th Birthday. It was a sweet celebration.

Next, it was off to New Orleans for the Memphis/Tulane game and to celebrate MG's 30th birthday!  It was a very fun trip and I hung til midnight both nights..what what!

Hey Bay Bay!  #16 weeks

We celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary.  The time has flown by.  I can't wait to add on to the life Brett and I have created over the last few years.

The next weekend we went to Newton, MS for my cousin's wedding.  We got to visit with a lot of family, stay in a cute B&B, and eat a lot of good food.  Baby BooHeini came along to.
Thanksgiving Week...#17weeks

We are finding out the gender next Friday and cannot wait!  We have an appointment that afternoon and then a party that night.  Stay tuned...
